Military Tuition Assistance Changes

Research!

Tuition Assistance is available for a bachelor's degree or up to 130 semester hours of
undergraduate credit, whichever comes first.

These 130 credits INCLUDE credits that you include at the Associate level.

 Tuition Assistance is available for a master's degree or up to 39 semester hours of
graduate credit, whichever comes first.

Tuition assistance is available for one certificate or diploma. The number of semester
hours obtained for the certificate or diploma will apply towards the semester hour limit at the undergraduate or graduate level based upon the Soldier's current civilian education level and/or semester hour cap.

What does this mean?

1. Plan Ahead!
2. Think about your career/educational goal and work backwards
3. Research requirements for your intended major EARLY
4. Study for your COMPASS placement exam and place as high as possible for your English and Math courses

IMPORTANT GRADE CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Pierce College Grade Policy UPDATE

Pierce College Grading policy has been updated! For students enrolled in the Military Program--beginning in the WINTER TERM no grades below a 1.0 gpa will be considered a passing grade.

To utilize a course in a CORE area the GPA earned in the course must be a 1.5 or higher.  To use a course in the GENERAL ELECTIVE area you must have earned a 1.0gpa or higher.

Make note of this change and keep striving for those 4.0's!

Attention Students!

One section of BIOL& 241- Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 for Fall1 -scheduled for McChord- has been cancelled.

Military Program Offices CLOSED for July 4

Happy 4th of July!!

All Pierce College Military Program offices will be CLOSED and there will be NO classes in session on Wednesday, July 4!

Classes and normal office hours will resume on Thursday, July 5.

NOTE:  Hawk Education Center will be closed from Wednesday, July 4-Friday, July 6.  Instructors will be in contact with their students to notify them of room changes for their courses.  Normal hours will resume at Hawk Education Center on Monday, July 9

NWAACC Champions

Pierce College Raiders Win the 2012 NWAACC Championship!

Congratulations to our Pierce College Raiders baseball team on winning their first Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges title!  The raiders had a 10-8 victory over the Mt. Hood Saints on May 28 at David Story Field in Longview.

Pierce College Military Program Office Closings

Pierce College Military Program Offices will be

Check out some local museums!  See what museums are participating at BlueStar

Blue Star Museums is a program that offers free admission to museums for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Some local area museums that are participating are the Tacoma Glass Museum, the  Museum of Flight, Seattle Art Museum and the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.
